We are Canada’s community for  pastel artists with members across the country, from British Columbia to the Maritimes.

What's On Now

ICAN Pastel conference

It’s back!
Our next ICAN Pastel conference will be held next spring (Wednesday, May 28 to Sunday, June 1, 2025) at the Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke, Ontario.  Mark your calendar now!

Our unique conference is designed to encourage and support Canadian pastel artists in developing their skills, so we invite YOU– yes, YOU–to consider offering one or more sessions! Ruth Rodgers (conference coordinator) will be offering a free online ‘how to teach’ workshop session in late November (date to be confirmed), so even if you’ve never taught before, consider proposing an idea. We also look forward to welcoming back many of our MPAC and EP artists to share their skills and advice!

what we do

PAC is committed to promoting pastels to art lovers across our nation. We host exhibitions and workshops to provide education among our members and the public. Here are some of the things we do.

News and Events

The current Pastel Artists Canada website was originally created by a fellow member who generously volunteered her time and efforts.  Her contribution has served the organization well over the years but the site is now in need of an update.  Below are a few key reasons why a redesign would greatly benefit Pastel Artists Canada.

#1.  The current website setup makes it challenging for volunteers to make edits and updates, requiring more time and technical know-how than necessary.

#2. A fresh, visually appealing design would make the site more inviting and representative of the artistic community it serves.

#3. The site needs to be reorganized so it’s more user friendly and so that it will load quicker.

#4. The current site is not fully optimized for search engines, and does not follow Google rules which were put into place in 2019, which limits its visibility. A redesigned website with updated SEO practices could improve the organization’s online presence, driving more traffic and potentially attracting new members.

#5.  A new site would eliminate the need for costly plug-ins for security reasons.
