Cathy Cullis MPAC, IAPS, SCA, PSEC, FCA

Cathy is a representational artist working almost exclusively in the pastel
medium. Her impressionistic scenes often depict a particular viewpoint of a
scene with a focus on the play of shapes, the patterns of light, line or
movement.

I have always been fascinated by the beauty and strength of the
natural world so it’s not surprising that my subject of choice is primarily
landscape. In each of my paintings I try to interpret what it was about
this particular scene that caught my eye or invoked some emotional
response. Nature reaches out to us in so many ways, whether it is
through sunlit clouds, wind-blown trees, majestic mountains, quiet
streams or crashing waves. It is all just so real and it can be comforting
to connect with that reality even for just a moment.”

Cathy has attained Master status with PastelArtists.ca (PAC) and is a
Master Circle member with the International Association of Pastel
Societies (IAPS), an Elected member with Society of Canadian Artists.
(SCA), a Signature member with the Pastel Society of Eastern Canada
(PSEC) and is an Active member with the Federation of Canadian
Artists (FCA).

As well as two solo exhibitions her work has appeared over the years
in many exhibitions hosted by the the above art societies. She
contributes annually to both the Dundas School of Art (DVSA) fund
raising events, The Little Black Frame and the Annual Art Auction. Her
work has also appeared in the Pelham Art Festival.

Jessica Masters MPAC

As an artist I get my inspiration from my own experiences; everyday things that demand a visual interpretation. However personal, I strive to articulate the images in a way that you, the viewer, have the space to attach your own personal story. My hope is to touch on subjects and experiences that bring forth a memory or a feeling that will connect you with the image. “With each subject I try to capture an atmosphere through the colour and light, in an attempt to push the image toward a deeper meaning about human nature”.

I received an honours degree in Fine Art at the University of Guelph, and have worked for the past 27 years as a professional artist in both soft pastel and oil paint. I teach classes in both mediums from my studio in Guelph Ontario. I have been a member of the Pastel Artists of Canada for the past 9 years and have been awarded Master Pastelist status. Over the years I have received several awards and an Ontario Exhibition grant for my work.

My most recent accomplishment was a feature article and cover image in The Artist's Magazine, July/Aug 2024 issue. I am currently represented by three galleries: The Muse Gallery, Toronto, On, The Water Street Gallery, Douglas Michigan and Grand Rapids, Michigan, U.S.
