I’ve been interested in painting all my life but became mesmerizing by and dedicated to pastel since 2010. My landscapes have been inspired by the joy of driving around the back roads in rural New Brunswick as a community nurse. I found my way of expressing this through pastel. I also enjoy the physical connection of holding the actual raw pigment in my hand and applying it to the textured paper. I continue to explore archival papers and the many different types of pastels. I’ve enjoyed studying with several wonderful pastel artists including Richard McKinley, Lynn Asselta, Michael Chesley Johnson, Jessica Masters, Jen Evenhus, Max Wilkes and others. I’m a member of Pastel Artists Canada, Pastel Society of Maine, Colour Circle of Hobart, Tasmania & Plein Aire Painters of the Bay of Fundy.
