ICAN 2025 WRAPUP DETAILS

Dates: May 28th to June 1st, 2025
Location: Neilson Park Creative Centre in Etobicoke, ON
Cost: See Individual Workshop Details

This biannual conference features Canada's top pastel artists and provides an opportunity to learn, grow, and make connections with other pastel artists from across Canada and beyond. Once again, we had a stellar line-up of sessions and activities to stimulate you over the five-day conference.

The conference was held at the Neilson Park Creative Centre, at 56 Neilson Drive, Etobicoke, ON M9C 1V7. Our 35th open juried exhibition, Purely Pastel, was shown at the same venue throughout the conference dates and beyond. This lovely venue has parking available and is also on the TTC/bus routes. Access to restaurants for a quick lunch is somewhat limited without a car, so you may choose to pack a lunch if you are attending all day. Check out our ICAN hotel rates at Monte Carlo Inn, Toronto West.

We had twenty-nine sessions, open studio space, and five free events!

A note from Ruth Rodgers...

Well, another ICAN conference has come and gone.
Five days, seventy attendees from three countries (Canada, USA, and Australia), and twenty-eight sessions with seventeen different instructors, which added up to a total of almost 900 participant instruction hours!
The feedback was very positive, with the most commonly heard comment being "Can't you do this EVERY year?" Um---no---but glad you liked it!
Thanks for coming and participating so enthusiastically. Hope to see you again in 2027!

In the meantime, watch for news of upcoming online educational sessions and other events to keep your fingers dusty.

My sincere thanks go to the many folks who made this happen.  Most especially conference registrar Gloria Burgoin, president Joan Larson, and VP Patricia Lowe, who did a million things in the background to ensure it all went smoothly; Kathy Hildebrandt, who will be ensuring all the artists get paid in the coming weeks; Chloe Typert-Morrison, our fabulous conference web wizard; and the excellent staff at the Neilson Park Creative Centre, who hosted us so ably and generously.

See y'all next time!
