Become an ICAN Volunteer

It may feel like 2027 is a long way off, but creating an unforgettable ICAN experience starts now!
ICAN is PAC's biannual conference, bringing together pastel artists from across Canada and beyond to learn, be inspired, build skills, and connect with a community of fellow artists. Every workshop, demonstration, and meaningful connection happens because of a dedicated team of volunteers working behind the scenes.
Now it's your turn to help make the magic happen.
Whether you enjoy organizing, communicating, problem-solving, or simply want to give back to the pastel community, we'd love to have you on the ICAN 2027 planning team. Volunteers are needed in the following areas:
  • Planning Coordinator – Works with the team to oversee conference planning.
  • Session Planning – Receives presenter applications and with the coordinator selects topics/presenters, and plans the event schedule and room allocation
  • Communications – Oversees the conference website, promotes the event, and helps spread the word through a variety of communication channels.
  • Finances – Works with the PAC Treasurer to provide accounting of conference income and expenses.
  • Registration – Processes participant and session registrations leading up to the conference.
  • On-site Coordinator – Welcomes participants and instructors, staffs the registration desk throughout the four days of the conference, answers questions, and helps ensure everything runs smoothly.
All planning meetings will be held on Zoom, making it easy to participate from anywhere.
Ruth Rogers is stepping down as Conference Coordinator, but she has generously offered to mentor the new planning team and share her knowledge and experience to ensure a smooth transition.
If you've attended ICAN before, you know what makes it so special. If you haven't, this is a wonderful opportunity to help create an event that artists will remember for years to come.
