Gail Sibley

My passion is creating massive colour with a limited palette. Along with creating art, I LOVE teaching. I’ve been passing on all I know to aspiring artists for 30 years both in person (globally) and, more recently, online at GailSibleyArtSchool. For free tips and inspiration, check out my blog, HowToPastel.

Colour Studies

ICAN – Studio D
Thursday, June 1, 2023
11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.
Demo

Making small colour studies can expand the possibilities for a painting, often in surprising ways. Working from a thumbnail in three values, I’ll show you how I explore and play with various colour options. Sometimes amazing things can happen when you surrender to this process. Come see what I mean!

Critique Your Own Work

ICAN – Studio D
Friday, June 2, 2023
1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.
Half-Day Workshop

Critiquing our own work is HARD. You’ll learn a combination of analytical and intuitive processes that can lead you to possible ways to improve your painting. You’ll then begin to make changes on your piece. These processes are particularly helpful when you’re stuck but not sure how to move forward.
